My first impressions of the shifter are positive - actually (apologies for the language) to be totally honest its a ******* revelation. It has absolutely changed the way I can drive the bus, short accurate shifting without the risk of going into reverse or trying to pull away in 3rd.

I am gobsmacked by the improvement and cannot reccommend fitting one of these enough. I never thought the shifting would be so much like a modern vehicle but it is - I can now compare it to my old MK5 GTI!

To sum up - I am ******* thrilled.

Looking forward to the journey to BusFreeze even more tomorrow now.[/quote]

Told you so!!!! ;) 8)
Awesome job dude and nice pics. :D

That shifter is gorgeous I'd best start saving then
Ill be at Dubfeeeze with my local club tomorrow and also a few of here just look out for a low superviking crossover with a gazebo up that'll be me and the gang
See you there

Mark

Had a great time and at no point did I think a heater was necessary - sleeping bag, duvet and beer jacket was sufficient!

Well today I decided to have a go at fitting some replacement Cab Window Scrapers. Mine are original and the rubber seal is a little perished to say the least.

I had a look at the new shiny scrapers I got from Gareth aka (Lodain Volley) and it seemed easy enough.

Well what a ******* of a job! Took me 3 hours to do a single side!

Here are some pics

Nice new scrapers

Had to remove the door cards, window glass and small window.

Everything removed - even gave the mucky bits a wipe!

All in all getting the glass back in without either smashing it or damaging the new scraper was the most difficult thing.

Will have a go at doing the other side before the diner meet!

What a horrible job

Stu,
You have done a great job on this bus, it looks a quality build.I wonder if I could use those CPS disk brakes on my 71? I have yet to fit my scrapers yet...

Cheers mate - I am sure CSP do a kit for your 71, they are well worth the substantial outlay!

I cannot however take credit for 99% of the resto work as Deano aka Gadget completed it under a tight timescale and even tighter budget!

Not looking forward to doing the other side of the bus for the scraper but will be having a go on Fri!

Needs to be done for the diner meet!

Had a wicked day today at the Xmas diner meet - even managed to get a Scooby Snack smashed and two chocolate milkshakes nom nom nom.

Here are the pics from today - great to meet you all! There was even an olympic athlete in attendance collecting his new earlybay!

Some great pics there stu shame about the el presedenty burger

Catch you next year dude

Btw did you follow the gouges in the road on the way out

Mark

Yep - shame about the challenge burger being "off limits"

You did cut a nice groove in the road/gravel as you left - ploughing a path for the rest of us to follow!

Super slammed daily - respect! 8)

Have a wicked time in NYC!

The top fits great mate - didnt get noticably tighter after the small scooby snack I consumed!
Might be a different story after xmas excess!

Got my work fitness test in March so will have to be ready for that! Oh and Belgium!

Now that Murphy is getting some extra attention from Gadget in his speed shop - 240v Hookup Install and several other jobs I am without a VW fix
