We've had at least one merc in the family since 2006 and they have been brilliant. No issues at all apart from an ECU needed upgrtading that took 2 weeks but they gave us a very nice CLS, a battery went after 2 years on the ML and they came out to the house to replace it and thats been it.

The most reliable cars I have owen are my 2 bm's apart from servicing and tyres they were totally trouble free.

The worst was my vw r32 back in 2003. I had it for a year and I dont think during that 12 months it didn't visit the dealers at least once a month for an issue. But I think I might have been unlucky as my scirocco I had 2 years ago ran faultlessly for 12 months. Even though I had it lowered, AP brakes, sports cat etc and it was running 310bhp...

I've only had one audi, an a3 sline dsg tdi thing that I loved. It had a couple of minor faults that the dealer made a right old meal of. So I can't blaim the car as most issues were the useless dealer.

I would like to take this for a drive!!!!!!!!!! 8)

Ooh ! I like that :)

Unfortunately, being an old git now means I would look a bit of a numpty driving something so sporty these days :(

Back in the days when they still made them (just) I used to rip around in a Healey 3000. Its was named the squealy - for obvious reasons

Owned over the years:

Pug 205 GTI
R5 GTT
MX5
Clio 172
Golf GT TDI (x2)
Audi A3 Sportline

I would have said the r5 was the best - love old school Tubo lag, followed by the MX5. Before I bought the below in October, I've always wanted one and I must say that I now understand what all the fuss is about. Handling and ride is fantastic, sound it makes is great - and fast enough for me at least, for now at least - I think Porsche ownership will become another expensive hobby..... :msn4:

Mine was this, sold it as my wife would not drive it... Used to wet my pants when I floored it and the tech art exhaust growled with all its might.... Ooh ooh missis :)

Believe it or not the most fun I have had with a car was a Citroen AX Gt. I lowered it my 80mm and the dash would detach itself over bumps and I ripped many an exhaust off but it would kill golf GTis and 205's. I even beat a scooby through the lanes in it. It was a go cart at heart.

However, would I want to experience a crash in it or let my kids have one.......nah!

After that I have to say I enjoy my Fabian VRS (diesel)........

But OMG it sounds amazing

You must be the only person to own a car that is less economical that your bus :) and you are only running it in. If it were me the temptation to floor it would be ridiculous.
