I had a mercedes c63 amg demonstrator for a couple of hours yesterday and i have now found my favourite care :) it might not be quite as prescise as the m3 but its fast as fook and makes the best noise. I am in love.

Handles well and i dont think on the road there isanything in it betwwen the 2

And i have just ordered one for the 1st march next year :) so the best car i will have owned is the c63 coupe

that is a hard question, over my life time (62) I have had some great cars and how does one define that?
For me how reliable it is is the goal post, I'll say no American built car falls into that catagory, my first toyota went over 200,000 miles with no issues when I sold it and at present I have 300,000 on my Hyundia, not the most comfortable car but great milage 35-40 pulling my motorcycle trailer and over all reliable.
the guy in the photo is hard core, not my idea of how to transport a race bike :D

out of all the cars I have ever driven this, is probably the best A robin hood kit car, 2.1L pinto.

not this actual one, but the same car

Wow. The wide variety of vehicles and the reason each person rates it as their best/favorite is fascinating.

Some for their reliability or value for money, others for their looks and comfort and others for their character or abilities and thrills.

Theres quite a few on this thread I wouldnt mind owning as well - from a Landy through to an MX5 (though being tall means I may not fit)

The variety is as wide as the reasons for picking them. I guess this thread could even be useful for purchase ideas too. Good stuff. :)

Good thread 8)
Best memory for me was a white 2.8i Capri, lowered of course running superlite wheels and janspeed exhausts and my mate had a RS 3.1 - fun times 8)

My mate had a few of them and finished off with one of the last 280's in green. Lovely car and very entertaining to drive.

My current daily (now had it for 4 years):
IMG_0125.jpg

Beautiful 4.2 V8 - purrs
Quattro 4 wheel drive - great last winter watching all the fancy rear wheel drive cars slithering around.....
Fantastic Recaro seats (full leather and electric everything inside) plus one of the best sounds systems I have heard in a car!!
IMG_0124.jpg

Plus, used it a few times to tour Europe and designed just for that (would get 30+ MPG plus cruise all day at 90..........)

Ahh

Now the wifes....

My new daily

Nice :) is that an 8 again? Spec?

I take it you like silver cars :) Mine are always black

It's actually a very light blue.

And for the spec:

Radar Cruise Control (ACC)
Solar sunroof - Fantastic for summer, whether driving or parked up !
Twin pane UV & Heat reflective glass - Stops heat build up
Heated Windscreen - Clears an iced up screen in < 1 min
Late revision Audi bluetooth phone module, supporting iphones etc
DVB-T Digital TV tuner
Audi AMI Music interface with Apple ipod/iphone connector (USB also possible)
Sport spec - Suspension, steering wheel, seats
Xenons, and adaptive cornering ones at that
Advanced key - Keyless entry and start - A must in this class of car
It also has an ipod/iphone connector under the armrest which goes into the A/V inputs of the tuner so you can play videos on the MMi screen if you wish.
4.2 V8 plus LPG conversion – works out that I can average 35MPG

I used to love my 5.7 litre Chevy Camaro, acceleration that pushed you back into the seat but best to avoid corners at speed, like all old Yank tanks it didnt handle. The real downside though was the mpg, when i had a heavy right foot i could get it into single figure. Best i got was 17mpg. But i was young dumb and full of .....the ladies loved it.I could smoke a set of tyres in an evening on the local strip serious high grin factor :D :D :D :D I sold it about 25 years ago.
Wow ive come over all nostalgic re-living my youth wheres the photo album.

Jesus really light blue :) Very very nice and a huge spec. I do love big Audi's (and big merc's). The 7 series BM doesn't look right in my eyes

Does it really do 35mpg? I can't recall any car I have owned ever doing 35mpg, let alone a 4.2L v8...

LPG at 70p per litre. Petrol at £1.34. Car gets around 20 to 25mpg so based on those prices, if it was petrol then yes around 35 mpg. Nice

Merc quality is not what it used to be and I agree about the 7 series.....
