Is it possible to install the thermostat link rod without removing the engine please? If so how do I do it?
Many thanks

It is possible with a bit of fiddling. Undo the bolts at each end of the fan housing and remove your fan belt. Loosen off the dynamo/alternator clamp or better still remove it (don't need to remove the alternator from the fan housing).

Now I am presuming that you already have the cooling flaps (matron!) fitted.

Lift the fan housing enough to get to the assembly. Google some photos or check the manual to work out which way around the bar goes and feed it up from under the engine. Or if easier, start from the top. Get the top of the bar located into the loop on the right flap and push on the keep washer to make sure the bar stays in place.

Begin to lower the fan housing and make sure the bar is still free. It is quite easy to snag. Once fully down, add the alternator clamp again and bolt down the housing.

You should then be able to add on the thermostat underneath. Remember to set it correctly as per the manual.
