hi

when the bus went in for it's resto a few years back, someone swiped the little plastic red bits that go on the end of the heater levers on the dashboard - I have looked everywhere but cant get hold of a set.

Has anyone got a pair out there they dont want?

Other wise I will have to look for an early bay being restored myself

cheers

Custom and Commercial have complete arms with either red or blue plastic caps for sale in their catalogue, for either late or early bays.

page 38, Catalogue number SO2046 and SO2047.

I know that og early bay ones are like rocking horse poo, but give Justin or Liam a call at C&C, there ones might be repro ones but better than nothing.

thanks miss fish - did you get the early ones or the later ones from Megabug?

i was up my local scrapyard (sorry VW Restoration centre) and I could have pinched a pair but fet guilty as all i would be doing is putting someone else in th epostion i am in

maybe i will try volksheaven

I got the early ones. Apparently you have to buy the whole thing, i.e. the arm they are attached to. Once they've been ripped off (the actual rubber knobs) they're no good to anyone. Think I paid about £7.50 for each arm. Not cheap!

Good luck and if you want a hand fitting them.......

i got these :D

analord,

There are couple for sale on eb@y at the moment.

I've got a bigger problem - somebody ripped all the heating out of mine at some stage.

ouch, no heating........ :( :(

i had that in my 73 westy. by the time i had worked out the cost of replacing all the heaters, tubes and heat exchangers, it worked out cheaper to buy a Propex heater. trouble was i then had to fit a leisure battery in order to run it when the engine was switched off.......££££ :( :(

still, propex is lovely and warm!![/quote]
