I want to fit a tow bar on my '69 Westy. Has anyone used the JK towbar, and if so will it only fit with a standard exhaust? What other makes are available that might work on my camper, particularly with an aftermarket exhaust :?: Thanks

Would really appreciate some advice here if anyone can help - cheers. :(

There is a place near me who will supply and fit a tow-bar for £180. I am getting fitted when I get mine back from the painters. Bromley Kent BR1 area.

I can tell you that the JK one WILL NOT work with an aftermarket exhaust, I had to send one back a few years ago.
The side legs that come off the chassis legs foul quiet packs and the like.

See if gadget boy has another run of replica westy ones coming up, that's your best bet

Just to concur what graham said really, the JK one will only fit with standard exhaust. I know, because i currently have one fitted, and had to remove my bugpack for standard!

Hi Foz,
Do you have a pic of what the JK one looks like from behind? As in what's on show?
Cheers
Al

Hi i have a quiet pack exhaust on (single), and found it hard to get a towbar to fit so i made one out of wood 2"x2" and half inch mdf for the plates which attach to the van then got someone to copy in it metal,, only way around this non stardard exhaust problem

Thanks guys, looks like a customised job is the best route then ;)
