Any suggestion where to get van rated tyres and not the 70+ profile.

I used to run 185.60.14 on my crossover, 88 rated, which are car tyres but used to argue the toss there were ok. :shock: Well a little older and wiser now (ok just older). Where is best to get some reinforced, load rated C or D tyres from. looking for some 185.65.15 or maybe 195.60.15's

http://www.blackcircles.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Have used both before, very competetive price wise

I went to my local tyre place (Plume Tyres in Solihull) and they sourced me some commercial rated Continentals in 185/65/15, worth asking locally at an independent tyre dealer,

Seeing as they are van tyres you shouldn't have to go anywhere special to get them really. Got mine from a local indepentant mobile tyre fitter.

what if you wanted whitewalls?

If you do a search there is a thread on this with some links to a couple of companies than can apply a whitewall to any tyre. This seems like the best option, there is also the paint you can get from frosts or oddball import which apparently needs to be touched up often or there is those poxy flaps that wear away your sidewalls :shock:

Running commercial tyres on mine and thats how I intend to get whitewalls anyway.

ive heard you need a 500+ miles on your tyre to get rid of the releace agent on the tyre as it turns the white, pink :lol:

Hi!

Yes, remember the posts about whitewalls now. Though IIRC, i dont think there was anyone local to Somerset.
And what about when you see USA busses with whitewalls, are they not commercial tyres, guess there isn't enough call for commercial whitewalls in the UK?

it is true you will need to put some mileage (about 500 miles) on any new tyres, if you keep an eye on the forum in the :wink: next few months..i've a feeling that a solution may be close at hand :wink:

Ah right not sure how far you were from bay area rods?

Wouldn't suprise me if they aren't commercials, I mean look at the amount of people here that think its alright to run a fully loaded van on smart car tyres :shock:
