i've been offered a webasto diesel for the bus but am hesitant as i don't want it to take up the space under the bed.
so, where else could it go?
I would like it to heat the camping area (obvs) but would also like it venting to the windscreen. so, where's the best place for it and the tank?

also, does it smell?

thanks in advance :)

I have the petrol version fitted in mine, under the Rock N Roll bed, it takes up suprisingly little room & if you are thinking of connecting in to the heating system to heat the front, its ideal.

hmm, perhaps a petrol one would be better, but it's a diesel one offered. that looks like a really neat job. tbh, my mechanic will be doing mine *if* i get it.
are they VERY noisy? is it ok to leave on over night?
just not sure where i'd keep the fuel tank??? (sorry for all q's but it's not going to be cheap and want to be sure :)

The fan is pretty quiet as the speed varies according to the thermostat demand. I went for the petrol so i did not have to site a diesel or as tank, I just spliced into the fueline.

No problem with leaving it on overnight.

A couple of mates run ex-BT diesel ebers. Kick in with quite some noise but alright after that.
They're definitely noisier than Propex units though.
It does mean running a spare tank somewhere for the diesel and it's a good idea to run a second battery - the glowplugs and initial fire-up on the diesel ones seem to draw down quite a bit of power.

Oh, and if it's an ex-BT one on offer, then they have a 60min cutout timer thing (although apparently there's ways around that).
