I have swapped my solex originals for Weber ICT's on my type 4 engine. I followed the instructions from the CB performance web site, also got some more off the JustKampers site, which both proved useful.
It was very fiddly to gain access to put the new manifolds on with the tinware, especially on the left side.Discovered that the right side original was only bolted on via three studs,so have replaced that with a bolt I scabbed, but it doesn't allow the nut to bolt up tight tight if you know what I mean(where can I get a new one from ?).Managed to suss out the linkages, they look worse than what they are,but once on just a matter of "fettling" till they're just right.
I was a bit puzzled as to what to do with the second port which sits on the side of the carbs, for a 009 dizzy it suggests you block both off,for original it suggests to block the right one off and run the left one to the dizzy vaccum can.Well I plumped for that of the original dizzy way(have I got a 009 ??).
So with all that in place and linkages and fuel line checked I cranked her over and she sprang to life....a little fast but hey that could be sorted. So I'm quite proud of myself...sat staring into the back of the van loooking for any fuel leeks etc.
Looked on the floor and there's a little patch of wet appearing ....arrrrgh !A quick finger dip and discover it's oil coming from the dipstick ........
Switched the engine off and the computer on.
Suggestions please........
