We are off to Cornwall this weekend for 2 weeks, so booked a session at InterPro to have a once over and properly set up the new carbs befor the off...........
Hats off to Jason @ Interpro, started by checking plugs, then compression before checking/adjusting the rockers. The compression was 120 on each which im pleased with, the carbs came from Eurocarbs and was a SP kit but even so were very lean so the jets needed replacing. The upshot was that it produced 54.5Bhp Thats from a stock 1600SP with 34ICTs and a Turbo Thomas exhaust and an unknown electronic points set. Deffo worth the effort ide say for modest outlay.
The main findings from this was that i was running a Vac dissy with no mechanical advance, meaning that under load at full throttle i had no advance, meaning no power was being produced........so Jason found some spares and made a good 2nd hand unit that solved the problem..........He said he had only seen 2 previously like this.
The result is power through the rev range and it made 83mph on the rollers  If only wind resistance was non existant on the road!!
Anyone changing carbs/exhaust setup i wholely recomend getting it properly set up after.
Interpro is just North or Bristol and get my vote 8)
