Westy armrest

Is the armrest that is part of the rock and roll bed meant to have any foam as its make up? What I have removed is just a vinyl covered piece of ply.

This is in a 71 model.

My 69 had a piece about 20mm thick got it fron a dunelm

Just a thin piece to add some 'cush' isnt it?

Thanks, it would appear that everything was original, the foam had degraded.

Glued on a new thin (2mm ish) piece of foam before the new vinyl. There would be no room for anything thicker.
