I have been considering new wheels for what feels like a lifetime and I still can't decide! The first condition is that they must bolt straight on..I don't want to be messing around with spacers and widening arches etc...I really like the 5 spoke enkei's but I fear they are just a little wide for the van...so what else can I have.

My vans a 70 on wide 5's...any ideas and pics would be apprecaited. Cheers.

My sprintstars fitted straight on, no problem (wide 5 on a 70 Westy tintop)

As far as i know aslong as your arches are the original shape you should get any wide 5s under OK. Some give a better tuck than others due to good off set (how deep they sit over the drum etc)
Ive got BRM repos which are most probley the worst of set of any wheel (moon eyes alloys are the best off set i think)
So youve got

BRMs
Randars/Radars
DSR
Moon Eyes
5 Stud Fuchs
Empi 5s
Enkies
Torker
Sprintsters

and thats about it i think

This is a pic of my van to give an idea of how much its lowered...

Graham - liking the sprints...

Clyde - I didn't think raders went straight on? Problems with clearing the nose or whatever its called? I've also heard that torkers can be a bit of a struggle?

Raders fit straight on, its the small hub cap that dosent fit on the rear over the castle nut, You can easily get some alloy caps made up. Ask the fella on here who makes all the alloy stuff hes said he'll do some for me.

and I've always thought der steiner rads (dsr) were a fine modern but retro alternative to sprintstars, but hard to find aren't they?

DSRS are the best wheels for any VW they look sick on anything from splits to type 3s I would love a set on my nothc but as they are close to £2k a set its a bit out of my league. They are made by a doood in Germany (usually to be found at Volksworld show) who works for porsche i believe. They are hand made wheels and take ages to be made. I have a friend who has ordered some and they have taken over 9 monthes now and still not ready!

These are the best wheels by far imo  8)

My mate Boris makes these wheels in Germany. He dose it in his spare time as he works for Porsche Development as his day job. These wheels dont look too good on a Bay...............something dosent just look right, maybe its because the bay is so slab sided.
I like the mooneyes but they are getting very popular (he says with BRMS on his bus?).
