Hi did someone say something about grinding the spring plate stop off to make it easier to get the wheels on and off??

Wouldn't advice that if you are talking about the stop on the end of the axle tube by the spring plate cover, the stops are there for a reason so the arm doesn't go too far down.

Its possible to get wheels on and off with horseshoe plates but there is a technique!!

I just remove the rear bottom shock mount that allows the swing arm to drop down low enough to remove the wheel. What size rear tyres you running?

Standard at the mo but they will get changed asap
Technique my arse - Std won't come off. You need adjustable spring plates or silly little tyres.

I hear lots about letting air out of the tire then fitting also grinding the little cast lump of the end of the spring plate holder I can't remember who I talked to about it tho dammit

When i did mine i struggled to get the wheels off and on - standard 5.5x13 with 205/70x14 tyres (odd choice i know)

So i ground this little lug off, gave me an extra bit of travel when jacked up and now can get the wheels off and on easy without any need for letting the air out etc.

Yep standard with rather large tyres but thats how it came in from the states. Still on their now with drop spindles on the front, but rub a bit going over bumps. Need to get it sorted but looking a tyre/stance threads trying to decide my best option, as im also going down the prosche wheel route

I'm having the very same problem as I'm down one spline with horseshoe plates and running standard 185/r14 tyres on the rear.
If I changed the rear tyre size would this solve the problem?
My good mate 89rallye has done an awesome job on my steelies so want to get the correct size tyre.im gonna be running 185/60/14 on the front as that is what I've got on at the mo
Here's a little wheel pic

and yeah bottom shock mount off - i used to do that - try it before you go cutting stuff anyway :D

Yeah thanks dudes they do look cool don't they
Now what is the best paint to use on the nuts
Poe 15
Stonechip
Spray paint

Not sure yet

If you've got some POR I'd use that. Be careful that you don't have em come loose tho. Think it's only a problem with powder coating but prob best to have metal touching metal if you know what I mean?
