    Click then nothing

I had this exact problem - turned out to be the earth cable on the battery wasn't tightly clamped on. Seemed it was ok running low load, but when I tried to fire the starter I just got that click and nothing. Although maybe the fact yours worked when jump-starting rules this out.

1971 1600 engine stalls when in idle

Yep, when I had this it was the carb jet was loose (practically falling out). Couple of turns with a screwdriver, problem solved.

    Folding Bikes

I went shopping for a folding bike last year, started from the same position - cheap and cheerful will do. But after checking out several I ended up buying a Brompton. Bloody expensive, but the only one that seemed solid enough on the road to not leave me feeling seriously at risk! The way I...

    Wind buffeting?

I had the same driving on Sunday. To make it worse, the winds were strong enough to catch the pop-top and rip the fixings inside straight off the roof, so the bellows inflated and the roof lifted. Scary stuff while on the motorway trying to stay in lane!

    Van starting... electrical issue?

Ok, I have a good 12.5V feed at the solenoid post, and at the fuse-box in the cab. However when I turn the ignition on (but dont push the starter, so effectively dont turn the ignition all the way on), I lose all voltage at the solenoid. I'm guessing this isnt right, and I have a short somewhere...

    Van starting... electrical issue?

Afternoon folks, I have a puzzle for you. I was all set to head out for the long weekend in the camper, got everything loaded, went to start the van and... nothing! My van has a push-button ignition, so you turn the key (the red & green lights come on), then push the ignition and the lights go...

    Edited! Washer switch needed .

Yep, that's the mod I did, and somehow I went from fully working switch to the symptoms I describe. I'm sure plenty of people have done it without issue, but there is a risk you could do some damage to the wiper switch in the process. Presumably it was while drilling through, I've managed to do...

    Edited! Washer switch needed .

One word of caution if you decide to do this mod - I did it and ended up with a half-working wiper switch. The slow mode doesn't work, and the high speed mode doesn't return the wipers to the down position - I have to time when I switch it off to make sure they return to the bottom of the...

Hi all, I'm trying to repair these heater vents, and they have black corrugated card tubes as part of the assembly which need replacing - anyone any idea where I can get replacement tube?
