Hi Does anyone know where i can get a replacement engine bay seal from for my 69 dormy from? I have the one for the rear valance but need the one for around the front (tinwear) of the engine? I've looked at Heritage etc but can only find them for 72 onwards!! Cheers in advance :D

Hi, I'm going to be refitting my engine into my 69 dormy next week and I've managed to lose the top left and two lower engine to gearbox mounting bolts, if I remember correctly one is a stud? and the other two were bolts? Can't find a diagram anywhere showing what bolts/studs go where, any help...

Hi Could anyone recommend somewhere where I could get my engine rebuilt in the west mids? The end float play is out of limits giving me a big oil leak(1.7mm) it's obviously trashed the flywheel seal so it's probably time for a fatter bearing. Cheers Wayne

Hi All with the recent spate of bays being stolen :evil: i'm gettng a bit paranoid to the point that I wont even leave my van in the supermarket carpark alone!! Can anyone recommend a wheel clamp that wll fit an early? the ones I have looked at wont go over the moon shaped hubcap. Cheers

Hi I'm finally going to remove the engine from my van this weekend for the first time as I think the oil cooler is leaking, has anybody got any tips on how to support the engine on a normal trolley jack? the Bentley manual mentions a special support which holds the engine onto the jack ...

Fitted a Petronix electronic ignition today, think I have bought the right one, Dizzy with condenser (not 009)? Anyway after fitting it the rotor arm is now too high for the dizzy cap causing it to jam when the engine is turned over! I have triple checked that the magnet is all the way down...

I'm looking at getting a full resto done on my van (its finally time to do it!) over the winter, ie, welding, respray etc. Can anyone recommend anywhere to take it (somewhere around the midlands preferably). I want somewhere good as no doubt its gonna cost loads :(

The mister men van was my first (1971 tin top) but the bottom fell off!!! The baby poo coloured one (Doris) is my current ride, totally original 70 Dormobile complete with rust. Think I've done this right :roll: [/img]

My van has just begun to start backfiring when the engine is put under load, could it be the fact that i've recently fitted a pan head air filter? Its never done this before in the last three years i've had it. :? Cheers in advance

Hi Just joined the site and have been looking around and noticed the piece on chassis numbers in the history section, I've got a 1970 Dormobile whose chassis No is 2302071686 which doesnt seem to correspond to any of those given!! Can anyone shed any light on it?? Cheers
