Great job! I’m envious!
Pete is the gearbox master! I’ve known him for a long time and he’s done a few boxes for me for myself and customers. Although I did have a brief flirtation with John Walklett which ended up a monumental mistake when Pete had put doing boxes on hold due to personal reasons a few years backI heard Pete’s the man for an upgraded gearbox.
Thanks, sits in there perfect I thinkThat's a better fit.

The box in my bus now is a fully built 091 6 rib race spec box from cogbox. Heavy duty gears, welded hubs & forks, nitrous gear ratios determined by Pete, limited slip diff along with all the special mods which he does to such builds.
I also had Pete do a nice box for my girlfriend 1960 bug to compliment a hot 1600cc me and Hector put together. Box is based on a 1972 GT beetle box so still swing axle and has the nice 3.88 ring & pinion for motor way cruising but was fully rebuilt, swapped to short axle, close ratio 3rd & 4th and Bugpack super diff.
You don’t just want a longer 4th, as it will be a massive jump from 3rd to 4th and you’ll need to rev the tits off it in 3rd. Go for a 4.57 ring & pinion, will give you a better cruising rpm but the gaps between the gears will all stay the same, Pete would suggest the same. Message me and I’ll give you his contact details if you likeThanks K@rlos nice to hear he done some good work for you as pride in work is worth the weight in gold. I’m only looking for a possible rebuild ant some point with and a longer 4th for my new 1776.
