Quick update

Got the front beam on, along with the rear drums...

We've dropped it two splines at the rear (one inner and one outer) - it looks to be about 260 mm from bolt hole to bolt hole for the shocks.

Has any one done similar - what size shocks are you using front and rear?

Come to think of it - what tyre sizes would go on 14'' rim at this height ?

Any advise much appreciated!
 
Try your og shocks on you might be able to get away with them,otherwise try a front on rear for length.I'm running KYB front shocks on mine 2 spline drop,the only downside is you have to undo and remove bottom shock bolt to get wheel off.How have you lowered front,as you might have to remove bumpstops or have you made them adjustable? Sorry to sound like the voice of doom.

It's been a few weeks since my last confession....

...but hard work has been moving it on. The gearbox, oil Cooler, fuel tank, seals, brake pipes, hoses, blah,blah,blah...and Engine are now back in..

...CSP's have been put on the front and the rear drums have been rebuilt and re-fitted...

...I'm chuffed to F%&K with how the wheels have turned out..

..fitted with 185 65's front and 185 70's rear the ride height looks like this..

..but it will hopefully drop to this when fully loaded..

It does indeed look very nice,I like what you've done with it,keeping in with the earlybay style,especially those wheels,better than VW would have done 8)
