Hi all, I received my 1970 red Westfalia this week from California.
Really happy with it and can't wait to get stuck in but it's going to be slow progress as I've got to get my split screen microbus done first.
Here's some pictures so far.

Nice bus, I bet with patience and a lot of research you can save a lot of original paint off of that drivers side. while straightening it out. Cool bus!!

That's the plan, just not got to rush into it. I think I'll make a tool up to push it evenly from the inside. I should have half a chance of making it look pretty cool

Stripped most of the interior out yesterday and have come to the conclusion that I'm better off putting a side in it. The damage was pushed in such a long way.
Also started to strip the ignition to get the barrel out which was a pain. On the look out for a suitable replacement.

When I'm repairing a big bit of damage like that I often find that you need to bash it out most of the way anyway before you can cut it out to replace it.
sometimes you think something won't repair, so you go at it as if it's just getting cut out anyway!!
Then you stand back after a few hours & look & think!!!
Fook it , I can repair this!!!!

If it's not just me you can nearly make out the shape of the car that hit it. Nothing some T Cut won't sort out

Cheers guys. I planned to just run it but it's a long way in and took the floor. The interior won't go pack in. I'm guessing it wasn't a smart car that did the damage lol

That's the interior stripped out so on the lookout for replacements for the broken parts. The floor was all creased up from the accident so made a start on unpicking it. Very slow progress though due to needing to get the split finished first.

Hopefully I can keep chipping away at it and get the middle panel and floor in soon. Then it will be onto the lowering
