A standard bus according to the haynes manual is 1730mm from floor to gutter at the sliding door opening. Raised this is 1820mm. Currently lowered it is 1640mm.

It looks like one of my kids Tonka toys looking like that, it also got me thinking too and have googled raised spindles to see how to lift the front, think the back is just a spline the opposite way to everyone else. It does make em look tough

I thought about putting a syncro sub chassis and 4wd parts under my old west but then it's a lot of work and not much to gain imo. Less ground clearance, lots of expensive and complicated parts that can fail.. I've been stuck with 2wd a very few times, and i didn't even have a locking diff..

My bus was/ is pretty high look in my camo bus thread mines running 235/75/15 front and rear

Excellent, love it! How do yo intend to raise the front, re arranged adjusters, ct and turn? just watch out for balljoint travel. A mate of mine had an off road crewacb bay back in the 90's, was very cool.

Just thinking about it, a k&L beam would be the way to go, no issues with travel, all the offroad boys use them.

Here is a picture of my bus from the late 90s

It is still at that height now but the bodywork leaves a lot to be desired.

We will be getting it back on the road over the next year and we are looking into ways to raise it a bit higher.

I have the same tires on my 70 bus haha, I changed the rear torsion and fitted 24" BILSTEIN Shocks, it glides smoothly with a 1660 single port engine and a 3 rib trans, doesnt run fast but can carry heavy loads
