Well as some of you may know I decided its time for an engine upgrade/rebuild. As it happens there's nothing wrong with my trusty 1600 TP as it stands, I just don't know it's history and would like the project to learn more about my bus and what makes it tick.
I did lots of homework and initially set my sights on a 1776, but quickly realised the work and finances involved, not to mention all the other faff like brakes and gearbox upgrades. For a beginner, a little too much me thinks so......
I've decided on a 1641, I know some say you won't notice the difference but others do and to be honest I'm not massively bothered if I don't, if nothing else it'll be an opportunity to learn lots about my bus.
Well, I purchased this today, a fully functioning 1600 AD code 1600 TP for a strip and rebuild.
At the moment my plan is to stick either an engle 110 cam kit or scat c35 kit in the block, maybe balance everything (open to suggestions), 1641 B&Ps, stainless valves and port and polish the heads. I've got 36 dells that will sing nicely too.
So any advice on anything else I might want to consider whilst stripped down gratefully received guys.
Here we go.....
