As some of you may be aware, I have been planning a European trip in my 71 Westy. Well the day has finally come where we have set off. It involves me, my girlfriend and our 71 bus, travelling through as many countries as we can in five months, once in a lifetime stuff really but something we've wanted to do for ever!

We've worked really hard over the last few months saving and working on making the interior travel friendly, but there is no real way of knowing how everything will work out until we get moving, so at 5am this morning, we set off.

You can follow us at http://www.boundforglory71.com and I will try to post updates on here when I can. The blog was mainly for my mum who will be worried sick until we return but I'm having fun writing it so, enjoy.

Thanks!

Good luck!! and more importantly, have fun!!!

Looking forward to seeing updates on the blog :)

Have a fantastic time! Very jealous!
Break up the travelling by doing LeBug Show @ Spa at the end of July!
A few of us could meet you there for a beer (or 2 :msn4: )

Thanks everyone. Alex, I'm sure you'll be getting a phone call! Stu, we are going to try for LeBug, and as many other VW shows as we can whilst travelling, if nothing else than to pick up spares and such.

We are currently in Cambridge, M/C packed up and servo, despite being brand new, has never worked. Fitting them tomorrow and then we head towards the ferry, which we delayed from yesterday. It's been handy though because we've been able to try out the interior while camping and already have a to do list.

Thank yous already go to Angie at Bromsgrove Auto. Curtain rail snapped the day before we were due to set off, rang her to see if they had any screen wraps, nope, but as soon as she got off the phone she would make one for us. Picked it up the very next day and it's fantastic.

So far things are working as we'd hope, Waeco fridge is excellent. Propex kept us toasty. Hob has made a full English and a steak dinner. Van is performing (sort of). So far, so good!

Hello from sunny Spain!

Well we're now about 3000 miles in and even crossed the Pyrenees, unthinkable 5 weeks ago. It's all detailed in the latest blog post: The road never leaves the Mountain

Couple of pictures as photobucket is exceptionally slow at uploading abroad.

Adios!
