Nice work 8)

Ive been looking into this with all the Roadtrips coming up . You dont need to get a CB SWR meter as most new ariels are pre tuned . I.e the thunderpole stainless steel item here

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230401708915&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You can get it cheaper but Not in stainless :mrgreen:

With this CB unit a Midland one

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MIDLAND-38-Dual-Voltage-CB-Radio-12V-24V-BRAND-NEW-/250334222830?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_ConsumerElectronics_SpecialistRadioEquipment_SM&hash=item3a491519ee" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And this Extension speaker You can hear people too :lol:

The total is £ 101.50 and its all new too

:mrgreen:

does this mean i can get my old midland set out :shock: its been alingned so makes guiny 4watts,blow your ears off good buddy,power mic as well,dont know if still have mag mount,silent runner, catch you on the flip flop ;)

This is the same as mine, It's only 99p at the mo :D

Really good rig, I prefer the older style rigs, like Rotel, Binatone (5 star), uniden and so on.

10 4 good buddys. :lol:

:D

I have just won one on ebay :mrgreen: only need an arial now and im in

I picked one up at a bootsale last summer and was thinking of fitting it - I'm beginning to think it's a must!!

It's a Rotel and came with a coffin shaped mic, an SWR (?) meter and brand new aerial - all for under £8!! (I later sold the spare SWR meter for £15 - so all good! 8) ).

Just need a mic holder thingy and frame to mount the rig now.

Don't know any of the lingo though - maybe we could have a beginners guide from an experienced CB'er?...

;)

Justin,

Cool!

I used to have a Rotel 240 and a mag mount on a biscuit tin in my bedroom when I was a kid, it used to wipe the tv out!! :lol: me Mam would go balistic!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Let's see your retro rig's 8)

Wow, that looks the business fella! See it's an FM rig, got the 'CB27/81' circle on it but looks similar to my old 'General Electric' AM thing!
The new one I have doesn't have the 'CB27/81' thing on it but am sure that is the legal standard.
Just need to get people actually using them, keep it up mate!

Ha ha, that reminds me of when I was about 12 and had a General Electric AM rig! In the loft was a metal bed frame (God knows how it got up there :? ) To get a ground plane, that was covered in several layers of kitchen foil on top of which was an upturned Cadburys Roses tin with a 'twig' bolted to it!
The neighbours were really good about it, said the conversations they heard via the telly were better than the programmes! Some thing don't change then...... :lol:

Im in! what channel are we going to use???? :mrgreen:

I had a huge home made wire aerial in the roofspace and a booster circuit, i used to really piss the neighbours off :lol:
