My engine has AS cases is a twin port, has a doghouse oil cooler, an SVDA Dizzy and a Brosol H30/31 Carb.
Thats about all I know about it, Its come from the states so nothing in the way of real history, question I have is at the front of the engine there is a dipstick tube that exits through the tinware tight to the engine cases.
Its been leaking oil forever so I bought a new Empi (REAL QUALITY ITEM  ) dipstick tube thats designed to : "Crank case dipstick adaptor VW Type 3 engine to Beetle or Type 2"
Now the prblem I have is the dipstick tube exits the fitting that get bolted to the engine case at quite an angle, so much so that I think it would foul the bottom pulley.
Whats the score, Is mine a dodgy engine ?
Some Piccies to help :
Under engine Apron looking Up
Nice shot of the pushrod tube (not sure how this helps
Dipstick tube behind Engine Support brace :
Not a great Piccie but you can see how close the pulley is :
So what do I have / Need to sort this
Cheers Eric
