Engine mount adaptor kit

Anybody fitted a type 1 engine into their early bay using one of those engine mount adapter kits?
What's your experience's of them?
I'm looking at buying another engine (it's second hand). It doesn't have the holes for the engine support bar so I was thinking about buying one of those kits.
Or is there anything better available then the ones that bolt over the oil pump cover?
Can I still run an oil pump cover with an outlet for an oil filter so I can keep it full flow?

Used one for several years without any issues or leaks

The full flow pump cover will not work with the adapter.
