I'm in the process of building a timber framed extension.
They are cheaper and quicker to go up then bricks and mortar and will last a long time. All the timber is tanalised.
If you look at all modern housing now it's built this way.
The external is then having a render and slate finish.

This ones having a lot of glass on this side of it hence no walls there. Just steel to go in and then doors and windows.

Would love to see more of this as it progresses. Really fancy it as an option for a house extension but again how long does it last ?

What's the cost saving ?

I'm back down there in a couple of weeks fitting the roof once the builder has finished all the brick work and steel so will get more pic's then.
As far as how long it'll last, it's all tanalised timber and has a membrane on the outside followed by weatherproof render board so on timber is exposed. But time wise unsure tbh. It has though become the most common method for erecting new builds.
There is a house opposite this site which is being built with the same method and it's absolutely huge!

If you pm me I'll let you know costing on the frame work ect.

Cheers Scott
