Does anyone know if you can get a 5 speed gearbox for early bay's?

I am sure i found a company once that did them, just thinking it may help with fuel economy a bit more.

I think that there is a company making them at the moment, but they are not ready as of yet. Dont know what the companies name is either  )

I think gene berg do one http://www.geneberg.com/index.php
Its a bit pricey.
How about a FREEWAY FLYERS box. It has a taller 4th gear.

I have spoken to Berg recently, they will be doing a kit for bays soon, but not ready yet.

They were so nice, it was unreal, absolutely passionate about their work.

Have a look on the berg website. There's an interesting discourse on 5 speed boxes. As I understand it, there are good reasons for not having a longer 5th gear, and their 5 speeder just provides closer ratios (which is obviously a good idea, especially for those hill clombs in a 1584 !). Total cost for a conversion kit appears to be about $2000 plus shipping. Only for the dedicated, I think !

thanks for the links will have a look now.

the main reason I want a 5th gear is so that I could have a cruising gear on the motorways. I always find i will be cruising on the motorway and want to change up to a higher gear. for economy
