Posting pictures

As we dont currently have a picture upload facility (yet !) on the site upload your pics to a free photo-sharing site such as http://www.photobucket.com - this also automatically generates 'forum-friendly' links you can then simply cut and paste into a forum (under each image in Photobucket there is a box called 'Img' - cut & paste this).

If you have your pics on another site simply put a link in the message, highlight it, then press the 'Img' button above - any problems send me a message,

Mike.

Hi there
Got pics onto photobucket but cant seem to get link to forum and img cut and paste don't seem to work . . any clues?

Click on the image bit above the box your typing in.

Then copy and paste the picture form photobucket.

Then click on the image button again.

Hope that helps?

More than a bit pissed off now, how the F*CK do you get a picture on the site? I follow the instructions for adding an attachment, yet it does not appear. Thought I was getting to grips with this fatherless piece of sh*t only to be proved wrong again.

Step 1. Open a photobucket account , http://www.photobucket.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Step 2. Upload pictures to photobucket

Step 3. Copy and paste Image code into the earlybay post you want your picture to appear
Last one on the right, call "IMG Code"

Well i've just tried to attach a picture & i've been told that the "board attachment limit has been reached" WTF! Getting a little bit pissed with this

I've been browsing some of the pictures & the photobucket thing doesn't seem to work too good as a lot of the pictures have been removed or deleted...

Confused of Hillingdon, Biddy

It works fine as long as you post the right url...... and yes if people remove items from their photobucket it will be removed from the site as we wont host actual images just the link to the image.

As an alternative to photobucket I use image shack as you don't need an account to upload and piccies don't get deleted (I also haven't got a photobucket account!) http://imageshack.us/ - as above just click "Img" button when creating a new post and paste the link between the tags as below:

This button:

Example image link:

Code:
[img]http://imageshack.us/blah/blah/picture.jpg[/img]

Hope that helps

Larry

I took a screenshot to show where you copy the code in photobucket...

Hi Clem,

I've followed your instructions, but it only posts a link into the post and not the image itself. How do you get it to post the image into the topic?

are you using the img link?

Hi
I'm also battling with the picture upload. Sorted photobucket but will not display image. Please can somebody help

Hi,

I've resolved this for me. When you follow instructions from photobucket and press on the IMG, paste into post, but it will include the URL as well as the IMG, you need to delete the URL part of it and just leave the IMG to IMG part of the link. This will then show your image into the post.

eg. when you copy img from photobucket to post, it will give you 2 lines

Remove the 1st line: starting with {URL=htt

this will leave you with a line starting with (IMG]htt....and ending in [/URL]

remove the [/URL] from the end and you will be left with what you'll need to display image in post

Hope this helps.
