My partner has bought a house in France, and it would be great to take the van there and keep it there during the summer - say driving down late May, and bringing it back in September. It will be kept tucked up in a barn whilst there.

However, my current insurer says no - there's a limit of 30 days on trips abroad IIRC.

Anyone done this and found insurance that covers it?

Cheets,
Nick

I can't help with a name of an insurance Co. but my in-laws are out in Spain in their motorhome.
They went out in October and wont be back until March. There are lots of other Brits doing the same so cover must be available.

I had the same problem as I spend a lot of time in Spain. I use http://www.abbeygateinsure.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, i don´t know if they cover France but worth asking.
The only thing is you will struggle to get an agreed value.

You may also get european breakdown cover included, if not and you need it look at ADAC (German AA), full euro cover for around 90euros.
