Hi all,
I had got the van out of the garage, the other day,
was putting my son`s kid seat in the front,
when my bus starts moving and nearly flattened my foot
Some how my boy had released the handbrake,
luckily i managed to dive in and pull it on.
My pride and joy was nearly written off
and my son could have been hurt :?
I think it was "pay back" , as i shut my boys little
finger in the roof of my convertible bug!
Anyway , if your kids are in your van and you`re on a hill,
beware, things can happen very quickly ;)
Cheers Paul.

My daughter now beleives that 'rusty' is hers and has only lent it to me until she can drive, she is 4

Antony aged 5 today has dibs on the crewie when it arrives  hes not relinquished the 71 deluxe yet....

Although she's 12 going on 19 now, she still likes the "new" bus although she wouldn't be seen dead in it until it's one colour....
She had to check that the 924 seats were OK before I fixed them in as well.

Got the thought of that made my stomach churn, hurting my boy and bus is unthinkable. I do want my son to be into VDubs too though. He seems happy enough for now

Similar thing happened to me the first day with the bus. My 6 year old nephew came over and as his parents and we were admiring our new purchase he managed to release the handbrake. I still have a scar on my back from the gash I gave myself diving in and hauling on the brakes!

Since recently getting the van my kids treat it like a play den  - "can we play in the camper?" is all I get when home from work, what's also nice (without getting too sentimental!) is that my eldest boy (5) now wants to work on the camper with me every evening between dinner and bath-time - we've already changed the alternator and tonight we're adjusting the valve clearances

Gotta love kids and vans, My daughter cries every time I ake her out of the van, and when evr we go out any where she runs to the van and shouts camper or campa as she pronounces is, shes only two lol

I'll be getting her passing me the tools soon :)

whoops! That must of set your heart racing a little  Good job for being on the bal!
My 13yr old lad helped this weekend by drilling out spotwelds and painting repairs as they were welded up. I love having him interested
