Hi - i`m planning on lowering my van a bit - i `d like to go with dropped spindles but financial constraints (!) making me look at just welding a pair of adjusters into the front beam.

How low can you drop the suspension on adjusters reasonably before the suspension will start bottoming out?

Dropped spindles give a drop of 3.5 inches with full suspension travel on the ball joints. if i dropped my van on adjusters say 3 inches or so, would the travel on the ball joints be bottoming out all the time or would it be ok?

if they didn`t, i guess the ride would be no different to dropped spindles?

just trying to weigh up the options - dropped spindles are going to be about £450 ish with new ball joints. if i have to renew the ball joints and fit adjusters, its going to be about £200 by the time i`ve finished.

any advice would be great, cheers, mike

3-4" is the safe max on adjusters. The ball joints will be fine, but you'll split the rubbers quickly.

The ride is perfectly acceptable, but not the same as stock or with dropped spindles. :)
