it's been a long time since i posted here. I was (and am) bussy with work, family and an education (DTP).
Last week saw the first after-winter-drive. And it made me love the early bays's more and more...
Here are some pictures to refresh the mind;

A week ago we got back from Denmark.
We went to Bilund/Legoland and after that a few days to Ribe in the southwest of Denmark. On the way to Denmark we had a stopover in Germany. And back home we drove in one day
No problems with the van. That's realy nice!
In total we drove 1563 km and justed 197 liters of petrol. An average of 1: 7,9 (km)

1e Stop in Denmark. I always open the enginebay to let out the heat.

These blue bags are very handy for extra lugage!

And my daughter Rosalie slept in the bedbunk near the Dormobile-roof. (though gril from 3 years old!)

With some friends from the dutch bay-club VCT2.

This friday the bus wil get another gearbox as the old one wasn't doing the job very well.
Some photo's;

IMG_2507.jpg

The gearbox. It has code CE. The old one has code CA. I think it will fit.

IMG_2512.jpg

It's me starting a litle cleanup.

More photo's from cleaning up the gearbox;

bakcode3.jpg

The gearbox-code:
CE = type gearbox for bay 1972/1975
30 01 3 = serialnumber, stands for buildingdate; 30 januari (197)3

There are 2 more serialnumbers on the gearbox;

bakcode1.jpg

This one is on one side.

bakcode2.jpg

This one is at the front where the gear lever/shift rod (How to you call it?) is attached.
Got help with the numbers from a book called " VW Transporter and Microbus. Specification Guide 1967-1979" wich is co-written by dutch bay-clubmember Vincent Molenaar. He knows very much about the specification (or M-) codes).

Looks very nice (I am biased to dormies tho' :D )

What are you doing for the interior - original or something different?

Oh, and welcome 8)

Hi. Im no expert on Dormobile's or actually camper vans full stop, anyway Ive been offered a dorm the same year as yours that needs a refurb. Do you have any idea how much one of these are worth in top condition like yours ?

For the insurence, an expert said it was worth 14 000,- euros. I think i will not get that amount of money when i would sell it. (NOT IN A MILLION LIGHTYEARS!) More likely something like 10 000,- euros but you never now!
Do you have photo's from your Dormo?
Cheers!
