Hi , i took my 69 to the race shack today to get my new engine set up PROPERLY , there wasn't too much to change the main jets were changed from 135,s to 150's and airs were changed aswell, spoz you want to know what it made ? Well 103bhp (6000rpm) and 96ft-lb of torque at the wheels which is approx 130/40 bhp at the flywheel so it should be good for a 17sec 1/4, if your interested the engine is 2028cc, fk7 cam, scat 1.4:1 rockers, twin 44 webers, scat mini D heads (reworked),and a bunch of other stuff, i'd recomend anyone that wants to get the best out of their engine goes, the chaps there were very helpfull p.s it was still making 95bhp at the wheel at 7000rpm! so much for me thinking i was guna be changing gear at 5500rpm ( welded and balanced fan me thinks!)steve.

Hi that looks like a great bus with plenty of attitude. Will we see it on the drag strip at santa pod. I like the shade of white. do you mind giving me the colour name and code.

It was used on campervan crisis and also mainly based around beetle crisis 2.

the colour is L282 it is a little more creamy than the roof which is still original. And yes i'm heading for the Pod, having a quick van is ace, although i'm still not sure i struck the balance of performance and fuel economy £50 for 150 miles ish, all be alot of that was at 5000-8000rpm !

Yummy, hmmm it would take about 1k€ in parts to update my 1776 to 2110...

Nice one, I work about a mile away from the Shack.

thanks for your kind words chaps, as for the cost of the setup it was £260 inc two set of jets , steve
