wow some amazing polishing going on there!!!

looks amazing 8)

Cheers dude, I got myself a polishing kit from eBay it only cost £12.99 which is greàt value for money when you look at the results. It just goes in the end of a drill , you have a cutting compound and a polishing compound, and roughly 20 felt heads. The more effort you put into the cutting the better the result of polishing.

Top work there fella 8)
Do you have a link for the polishing kit you used, also where did you get the rattle cans used for the floor?
Lastly (sorry  ) when you refitted the T trims around table did you glue them in or are they tight enough?
Keep up the good work 8)
This is this polishing kit I used, roughly £14 with postage.

This is the paint I used, also from eBay. £20 free delivery. You will need to buy lacquer with it (I didn't bother as it was just the floor)

The T trim just pushed back in mate, it still perfectly tight, in fact you have to knock it in with a hammer.

Don't know how to post links using I phone, sorry.
Il post the item numbers if you need them?

Polished the other louvred window today .
After the cutting compound.

It's one of the most boring jobs I've done but the results are well worth it.

Anyone know what should be here?

Looks like there's something missing, there's a threaded rod with a cable on the back?

Hi,

The threaded bolt has a knob on the end, and if you pull the lever out, it sends the heat out through the walk through vents in bettween the front seats.

Cheers,

Alistair

It's being used as a template at the moment, after that it shall just gather dust in the garage. It may come in handy one day.

now there is no doubting that louvred window is polished  :D :D
Ha ha, the pictures make it look a bit stupid ! It actually looks a hell of a lot better than the horrible grey pitted look it started out as, it gave me nightmares though, worst job ever! :x :|

Had a day off today so thought I'd try making the old westy water tank water tight again. It had big splits running down most edges
0C62FF67-20AE-4CC4-890D-66B5EC107404-2121-0000013FFAB0E5BD.jpg

Firstly I heated up the splits with a blow torch so that the plastic would stick back together, then I covered the splits with flashband and heated it up to stick better.
Then with what was left of the flashband I used to just coat the tank.
9F6B2EF9-0DAA-46BF-9BC4-B471215B79BC-2121-00000140133B9EFE.jpg

After all that I dropped the poxy thing and broke the drainage pipe!!!!
I've repaired it with plastic metal resin stuff. I then have up and went inside, it's freezing out there!! :msn4:

Sent back my replacement foam dash insert that I got from vw heritage today, it was grey and a different finish to original which wasn't to bad as it added a bit of contrast to the dash, problem was the grab handle was then odd and they have no grey ones in stock until July!
I've now ordered one from custom commercial which is the same colour and finish as original, which also means I don't have to pay out extra for a grab handle! Sorted! Stereo is also on order as are the sound exciter speakers, woo hoo!! I can get some tunes pumping!! :p

Came home from work to see some goodies waiting for me.
New 'retro look' head unit

Excuse the ****** pictures.
Audio exciters, thought I'd give these a try in the front (before cutting speaker holes snywhere)if their no good I'm put them in the back and order some speakers.
