Hi all and a merry Xmas too all!
Not been on for a while as bus was going well until recently. Last month I took my bus to a new guy called Trevor in Warrington after moving there.
I found that my van wasn't going into gear at all without a crunch and loads of force! Also the clutch pedal was very floppy.

After a day with Trev and a sting for £70, she was running a treat. The clutch pedal was very stiff and gears smooth! he just said she needed tightening up ?!

Yesterday I heard a twang underneath. Now back to square one with same symptoms. Then found out today Trevor gas been kicked out of his garage!

Any ideas what the problem is and what he did?

I have 1600 '72 crossover. Many thanks and a ho ho ho.

To add also. Putting it in reverse the van jumps!
It will only go into second if the engine is off.
Even with the clutch fully pressed she will still try and move!
It's as if the clutch is not fully disengaging but I'm no expert.

Check the metal clutch cable conduit where it fastens to the bottom of the torsion bar housing. The little welded bracket might have snapped off the housing.

Theres a bracket that bolts to the END of the outer cable and onto the gearbox that can fracture. Held on with two 13mm nuts.
Worth a look.
It happend to my 74 and the symptom was the same as yours.
