I've had aircooled vans for over 30 years and the only gauges I've found useful are the fuel gauge and the speedo.
I've had vans with OP gauges and all kinds of fancy temperature gauges - looking at them becomes boring because they don't move very much and also means you develop needle paranoia when you should be enjoying the view. They also add to the amount of wiring that can short out and mess with your battery.

Providing your engine is well maintained, full of oil and you are driving your bus like an old slow vehicle should be driven, most gauges are IMO just useless bling.

Just realised that I'm beginning to sound like a cross between John Muir and Laurie Pettitt :lol:
