Is it possible to Powdercoat heat exchanger bodies successfully without it melting off?im getting the tinware done so thinking of doing these too or is it best to paint with heatproof paint?
Also is it possible to have a vintage speed exhaust and keep the heat exchangers, anyone done it?

I allways get my heat exchangers Powdercoaters in grey, it only burns of about an inch from the head port.
There is a local place that do it near you.
If you need more info re this and the muffler contact me.
Cheers
Dan

They are brilliant :)

Have a look in my build thread here http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42741" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I am pretty sure there's pics and a video clip of my vs :)

I considered this a while a go to try and rust proof the heat exchangers but decided against it as the heat exchangers are more than likely going to rot from the inside out due to the condensation.

However you're doing it for aesthetic reasons bet they'll look a treat!

Good luck!

Get em done with the rest of the tinware, a bit will melt/burn off, but it'll "protect" the main body.
