Hi, I know it's probably been talked about numerous times on here, but can't find what im looking for..

My 1970 bus has i believe a quick shift gearstick etc, since owning it i have had problems finding reverse. I have even had a car nose to nose with me, and i couldn't get it in reverse as i was pressured by the other motorist who had to reverse and not me as i couldn't select reverse gear.

What should i be checking ? and has anybody got any links etc to do this investigation of sorting the problem out ?

It's got to a point were i don't even like to take it out incase i have to select reverse in car parks etc etc. Heeeeeeeelp

Cheers for any info guys

I know this sounds stupid but have you stripped and cleaned the linkage where shifter meets link? Change the bits you can as well cheap job easy to do. Made all the difference with my van. I couldn't find first.

You can find the rest of the parts in same place. I removed the gear linkage stop plate and gave the ball and cup a good spray with WD then dug out the cup area with a screw driver.
