The Shiplee family have now been to several vw events in the last year or so
We have eyed up ( the kids and mrs ) the radio flyer wagons
At dubs at the hall they had some vintage ones with rubber tyres which was what I think we need they are around£130.00
Mrs Shiplee wants a new one at £180 cos of the child safety features
I love old stuff not so keen on the new ones
Has anyone any info on these bearing in mind they r for our two boys aged 9 months and 5 years old so safety is an issue

I do like the old ones tho :)

we've got a new one with the big chunky tyres but to be honest my 5yr old lad prefers this one:

Bought the ratty flyer for £40 then modified and slammed it for next to nothing

That is Sweet as

Go Rat Bud ;)

I love the look ov that soooo coool
But I recon the mrs is gonna won a purchase a more child / field friendly version

The classics are great you don't need all the pads and umbrellas.
The stock hard rubber tyres are fine but you can buy the atw versions contact asobi.co.uk they are the UK supplier they should be able to tell you where the nearest stockists are

My wife is wanting a new one cos the web sites mention something about new safety features to stop little fingers getting trapped in wheels
Has anyone had this problem?
I don't think it's an issue once there in they prob can't get there fingers squished can they ?
I'll check out the asobi website now

It's virtually impossible to squish fingers in anywhere.
My lads used and abused his since birth a classic 18 been dragged over fields sat on vw parts and crates of beer without a problem

Great that's good to know my wife will b happy to hear that
Maybe ill b able to talk mrs Shiplee into getting a vintage one at white noise instead of a new one

Ours is an old one with hard tyres and the kids have loved riding in it, with no issues

If this happens maybe me n mrs shippas cud get to see some music / bands at next festival :)

Iv got a retrowagen, little one loves it has big chunky pump up tyres, great when it snowed, and has wooden extra sides that u dont need to fit, il dig a picture out

we are gonna become grandparents at christmas so watching this with interest as i think as responsible dub gp's we should get one.......

Got my youngest the ranger for his 4th birthday - loves it and is now in pride of place in his room at home!

The back support and strap are designed for younger dubbers & removable but he's having none of it
