Think one of my cylinder heads is cracked so in thinking of either a small stroker 1641 or a 1776 from Vw heritage They wud both work out bout the same cc I guess but the heritage one has big valves I only want to drive it not race it around Wot do u guys think is the best option 3k max spend

1776 if the money is the same. Twin carbs: 36's or 40's depending on valve size, and a decent exhaust. Vintage speed etc.

Had any one on here brought/had experience with heritage 1776 lumps I just don't want to rip mine done really I don't have the time and aircooled knowledge yet so really lookin to set m mind at ease as they int no cheap little lump

Dont know anything about the Heritage lumps but the specs look good and new parts so should be ok.
3K though
A good engine builder should be able to give you a similar spec engine using your case and crank for around half that.
Just had mine done by Harry Harpics not finished putting it in but he really know his stuff so im sure it will be good.
