Has anyone found a seat belt from another car that will bolt straight on without having a bracket made?

From what I can tell the car ones will be in the wrong position but wonder if anyone knows of one that will work?

Have had a quick look at JK and they sell them for around £35 each but im not 100% convinced they are the correct position...Has anyone used them and do they bolt straight on?

Would prefer to use one from a car if I can as would be a lot cheaper. :D

So spooky! thats what I've been doing today -going around the scrappy looking for suitable seat belts. The nearest I got was a Discovery.also a sherpa crew cab would have been good but they'd been cut.
also you'll need some belts with a 'stalk' on if you have a walk through bus.
 I'll be watching this thread with interest...........

I'm not convinced by using second hand seatbelts (you don't know what has happened to them before) and don't understand why you say the ones from JK are in the wrong position, are we talking front or rear belts here?

I've just fitted 2 sets of front inertia reals from Machine 7 who are doing a deal at £66 a pair from memory and then fit fine, you use an L shape bracket that comes with the kit to mount the inertia real device and it comes with all the right spacers to make the top mount work etc. The ones from M7 have smaller inertia bodies which fit better down the side of the seat compared to the JK ones I fitted to Hank.

I like the sound of those Machine 7 ones,I was looking at the beige ones but they are full price, its the black ones that are on offer - sod's law!

I fitted a pair from Machine7 and had no problems apart from finding I needed to do some welding before I could actually fit the drivers side

hi i totaly agre with graham i fitted second hand belts when when i fitted new i realised how crap the old ones were why put you life at risk for the sake of sixty quid!!!!

The ones from JK looked like they should be bolted in the wrong angle but maybe they come with a bracket like you say.....

The safety thing can be said about most parts of an old vehicle....

Tyre wear, bearings, suspension, brakes, rot....do we replace everything for new?

ill take a look at Machine 7 and way it up as the cost may be outwayed by the hassle of getting some brackets made up.

Please dont get me wrong im all for safety but if the seat belts seem in good working condition I dont see a problem.

They cant be any worse than the standard stuff I have fitted at the moment....Takes me 10 mins to get out of em so im stuffed if the van catches fire !
