Can anyone tell me where to get the spring that the arrow is pointing to in the picture that keeps the hook depressed so the sliding door stays back on a hill, thought I bought the rite spring from heritage but it was for holding the door when shut the spring I bought is on the part on the left
cheers Shaun

Hey Shaun, do me a favour bud :p Order two when you find them , because I need one as well. That should help with the postage as well :mrgreen:

I am in need of one too - assuming they fit RHD buses, perhaps we can get a group buy together? :)

This is what I was thinking of:

NOS veer tbv schuifdeurvanger T2

4,05 EUR

excl. Verzendkosten

Artnr.: NOS 211 843 755

Hope it's the right bit

Yeh thats the bit Tofufi ,roughly £7
Would be good if there was a few of us to reduce the price

Well I have just discovered I don't have one which might explain a few things, so count me in when you go for it....

Dave

Need to be sure which part. The one Tofufi posted has a different part number, although the picture looks right. If you google this part number it is available from Jk and VW Heritage but as a split or beetle part. It could be that it is interchangeable?
http://www.justkampers.com/211-837-215-vw-split-screen-1961-64-door-door-handle-spring.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On the other hand the other part number ending in 755 is less and has cropped up as being the correct part number on a thread here in Jan?

What do you think?

So more googling brings up a Samba thread that suggests the 755 part and a google translate brings up 'sliding catcher' so my money is on that...http://have-a-nice-bay.nl/product_info.php?products_id=5699" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For me its the http://have-a-nice-bay.nl/product_info.php?products_id=5844" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (211 837 215) especially with the picture its got on busok that's what I have missing, I might go for the spring on jk site under the same part number looks very similar if not the same.
Thanks for the info and obviously if ordering from jk then without knowing for definate its the right part I won't find out about a group buy but I will let you know when I get it
cheers shaun

The Bus OK one is indeed the correct one.
The spring is not handed.
The part number is 211 843 755.
Furthermore, I was talking in person to Jeffrey (of the above firm) on Saturday at the Barndoor show in Holland, where he told me he only had a few left, so get in there quick!
The spring you linked to via Just Kampers is a completely different animal - the clue is in the different part number, the middle 3 digits - 837, refer to the cab door.

I ended up getting the whe mechanism (like in the bus ok pic) from eBay for about £15. Sure I've seen a couple with the spring pop up in recent weeks. Works a treat. Agreed with Ed, not handed as the mechanism I got was for a LHD.

Ordered in the end from Busok part number 211 843 755 all out of stock at the moment I think :(

fitted perfect and such a simple thing but makes a great difference
