I just noticed today whilst playing about with the throttle in the driveway that when the engine is revved initially, smoke appears from the exhaust.

It only happens for a second or so and disappears. The engine oil is spot on, no play in the bottom pulley and the bus drives like a dream.

Any ideas? Cheers.

Blue is oil being burnt so yes it could be valve guides.

Other thing to check is what the oil is like. If its 30 grade try changing to 20/50.

Also smell the oil to check for petrol contamination which will make the oil too thin.

If it only does it shortly after starting but stops when warmed up then I wouldn't worry too much for now but keep an eye on it and if it starts using oil and needing regular top ups then its time to take action.

Thanks for the advice Trikky.

I use 20/50 and changed the oil 250 miles ago so I know that's good. I'll keep an eye on it.
Thanks again.
