Speedo Installation

I know its a bit of a way off but I want to be a bit creative with my dash I love the classic american cars el camino's gmc's and chevvy's and would like to customise it by using a different speedo, being a complete noob and novice is this possible? first of many many technical questions.

use any that fits in the hole and a sat nav to tell you your speed chances are you wont be speeding anyway although my westy does down hill sometimes
