We've used the pizza oven a few times now, DATC was it's first camping outing. Heats up quickly and makes a really nice pizza. I've also done steaks in it :D

With their being a break in the weather today - ie its stopped raining for more than 5 mins I have managed to get some jobs done
Fixed the oil temp sender wire that got pulled off in wales - probably on some twig or branch!
Replaced the OG Westie sliding door handle that decided to split in two with the old repro (crap) one
Opened up the awning, dried it out, replaced one of the broken joints and patched two tears!

Fingers crossed we are now all good for our trip to SPA - decided to leave on Tues afternoon and head down to a nice campsite close to the tunnel

Cheeky meal in the pub tues eve and a good kip then off to the tunnel and into Europe for what looks to be a mental time!
In the next week or so we should be covering over a thousand miles

Will take loads of pics and fill you guys in on the other side!

Good find Stu, just booked myself in at the Drum Inn for a night on the 7th August. Got an early boat ride Saturday morning

Happy days mate - will take loads of pics tomorrow afternoon/eve and report back on how it was
Looks like a lovely place! We are booked in for a lovely pub dinner too!

Word of advice chaps, I live a few miles from the Drum and it's right in the middle of Operation Stack, so you may well struggle to get through to it. If you didn't know, Operation Stack is when they park HGV's on the motorway while the French port staff are on strike. It's a nightmare and clogs the M20 something terrible. Your best bet is to take the M2/A2 down towards Dover, come off and through Barham, Densole and then Hawkings to Folkestone and then head back a junction or 2 to Hythe where the Drum is. Also, google your crossing and check for delays.

SiDev,
Cheers for the info - have checked the tunnel website and no delays as it stands at them moment with 2 departures every hour as planned!
Have a semi intelligent SatNav that "should" reroute us past any delays or congestion however I will specify that tomorrow afternoon we come via the M2/A2 towards Dover/Barham just to be sure
Thanks again - will keep everyone posted of the trip down and any issues, especially as Foz is following us down on Wednesday morn for the tunnel

Listen to the travel news also Stu, it's been a nightmare for about a month now on and off.
The Drum is a nice little pub, few good ales on and the camping is very laid back, not sure if it's the same landlord still but he had a sign up on the wall saying "no mobile phones, talk to each other instead". Guess he's got a point.....
Si.

We stayed at the Drum a couple of years ago before heading off to Europe. Really nice little pub and good food too...and only 10 mins from the tunnel (traffic permitting!). Enjoy!

Made the first leg - now enjoying a cold one in the Drum Inn!
No traffic issues after following Si's advice and avoiding OP Stack on the M20
Lovely country pub with a great menu
Second leg tomorrow and into Europe

Half way
