Thank you! I called my mum earlier and she said two very nice Early Bayers had just left! Sounds like you guys are welcome back any time! 8)

Moved up North to Thorpe Market, near Cromer, for a few nights before heading over to Dubs at the Castle.

Thankfully it's stopped raining!!!

Hi Slammed

Sounds cracking..

Can we get a special code-word for E-bayers if we're not camp and caravan club members ?? ;)

Cheers

JS

Hi James,

I have spoken to my parents - so if you mention my name (Ollie) and Early Bay when you call you can stay without being a C&C club member the first time you visit. They do ask that returning visitors join the C&C club though.

Hope this helps,
Ollie 8)

Hi Ollie

Sorry for not replying - not checked 'Camping' for a while. thanks for making the arrangements
Probably will be a little while before I can visit 'child free' though. ;)

All the best

Just come back from a week in Suffolk and Norfolk.

Weather was a bit hit and miss, but the sunny days and great scenery easily made up for a bit of rain!

Travelling on a Friday morning, the traffic was pretty good – round the M25 then up the A12 – stopping for lunch in ‘Constable Country’.

Just off the A12 – recognise it?

First half of the week we stayed at Ollie’s parents place near Woodbridge in Suffolk.

Tranquillity

This is a really peaceful site with limited pitches but loads of room, spotless facilities and really friendly people. Ollie’s dad is also a biker and we chewed the fat over Guzzis.

We must also thank the chickens for some very tasty eggs!

There are two pubs - about a mile away (equidistant). One you can get to across the fields - the other is along the road - take a torch cos there's no pavement

This is a handy base for touring and we explored Southwold and Aldeburgh amongst others while we were here. Southwold was really wet and windy so we took shelter in the Adnams brewery...!

Aldeburgh is great for local seafood – straight off the beach... onto the BBQ! Lovely.

We moved up to North Norfolk for the second part of the week. Our second camp was a bit too quiet at first and frequented by regular caravaners and big motorhomes that seam to spend all their time behind closed doors watching TV! But the bus always attracts interest and people soon come over for a chat.

There's a very nice pub nearby in South Repps - excellent ale and really good food. We spent about 5 hours in there one day! A good walk is from the campsite towards Overstrand then along the beach (2-3 miles) to Trimmingham then back inland to South Repps to the pub. About 9-10 miles. Some of the footpaths are pretty overgrown and check tide times before venturing out along the beach cos there's no easy way up the cliffs if you get stuck.

From here we drove out to Wells-near-the-Sea for the day. We heard there was an Adnams shop there and we were running low on essentials! The beaches there are superb. The sea goes out for miles but isnt that deep when it comes in - perfect.

There’s a camp site in Stiffkey that we scoped out for a future visit – looks good, minutes from the pub and direct access to the beach. Well worth considering if you’re up on the North coast.

This is a part of the world I wouldn’t have usually thought about – but only a few hours drive it’s definitely on the list for future weekend destinations.

We'll be back!

I recognise the second picture!

Looks like you had a wicked tour! I'm thinking about doing something similar by myself when I leave work in a few weeks.

Looks like you had a great time Bears dad.
I'm guessing Bear is your dog, he looks awesome, im trying to persuade the wife to let me have one but she reckons they are too hairy!
Glad you had good time in in East Anglia!

What's life without a little hair?!

Actually he's not too bad - unless he's molting and then there's usually enough to make another dog!

Enjoyed every bit of holiday - even the rain cos it was 'holiday rain' if you know what I mean?

Been back to work a week now and already off with a stinking cold. Thanks to whoever on the tube for sharing that!
