strange, sounds to me as if someone gone bust and restarted up under a different name but same people running it :msn4:

Big bust up over the Ownership of the name Vanfest, from the write up on the VWT2OC's site.

http://vwt2oc.co.uk/

Its a shame, but I think the show has got too big and charging extra for the Bands has killed it for us. :(

It's all about name rights by the looks

They are promising all inclusive pricing in the future and some 'reigning in' by the looks. Good news?

I agree haven't been for the last three years , and it used to be the favourite show of the year !

Hopefully mike vanfest for me used to be about ordinary people/families having a nice fun weekend away for a fair price .... For me That's what they lost :(

I would rather them charge to see the bands/entertainment and lower the entrance price! Ive got no interest in the most of the z listers they get at these things. Would rather sit around with friends and have a few beers.
Keep the entry and camping price down! :D

Hmm doesn't seem like they've been doing too well for the last couple of years?

Company info

I'm not an accountant but it looks like the cash in the bank has just been going down and down :?

Reading through some of the posts between vanfest ltd and vwt2oc it seams like there is only going to be one outcome. :(

Sparky.

This stinks !
Hope they get things sorted or another show will take it's place as the biggest annual bus gathering in the world.
They have to realize we are not married to one show and we'll take our buses somewhere else if they keep acting silly.

having read the stuff on Type2owners site, that clem linked, its gonna be the same show, just a differant name. same location, same peeps running it etc etc

It all looks to be a bit of a mess really, a fight to see who can throw their rattle the furthest from the pram.

From what I can see, Simon Holloway has ran the show on behalf of the VWT2OC since the year dot, and it is Simon, under the guise of Vanfest Ltd, who has the skills and connections to do that. The VWT2OC own the name though, so its a battle for the name.

Being pragmatic, I suspect that there is more likelihood of the show being successfully staged by Simon under a different name, than by the VWT2OC under the current name.

What a shame...I am new to the scene, and visited Vanfest for the first (and only  ) time in 2011, and loved it despite getting absolutely soaked on the Saturday evening. And the cost of the bands is nowt...a fiver to see Slade is pretty good value in my book.

Some heads need banging together I reckon.

After reading as much as I can on the Van/Bus Fest spat I got the impression the club who "owned" the Vanfest name were hoping (in vain) to get a nice wedge of cash for flogging the name - FAIL!

Fair play for the team who are actually behind the logistics of organising the show to just rename it and crack on. And fingers crossed it will be great. 8)

I am certainly taking the wife to this one just so I can say Ive been to the 1st BusFest when I am old(er) like some of the oldies do about BugJam and the like!

Just wish the website would come online so I can book some tickets!
Hopefully the resto will be completed by then

StuF & Deliliahtoo ... you're both spot on

Re the oldies bit ... I remember seeing Slade back in 1982 and I think that might have cost more than a fiver

******* Good ....... 90 quid for a ***** Jackson impersonator and then 20 quid each for each music bit UCK OFF

Fair play to Clyde for getting his voice in early ;)

Finally You have all been to the Diner meets, well now Im going to do a free show ( NOTE: its a gathering NOT a show )

It will be based in the midlands, and as FREE as i can get it , its a weekend gathering for familys and good people on here only .......

Im firming dates and the venue BUT it does have an onsite bar and club ......... Ohh and the Name of the gathering......

NANS VEST

and Im NOT kidding either ;)

If I can put Just a little bit back into this scene :D
