Hi Myles

Only just caught up with this thread, shit you are not having much luck with that paintshop (thats why I won't touch it   ). Hope it gets sorted, hard to tell from the photos but did you plump for Brilliant Blue in the end?

Looking at the last photo I think I preferred the green hammerite look its started with

Cheers Grah

The way it's going I wished id have kept it green! Yeah went for brilliant blue in the end but it doesn't seem quite the right colour! I'm happily with the colour though! Just the bloody prep is shocking! You know you want to build my doors ;)

Doors need to be on the bus fella and then I'll consider it :)

Other then minor issues with the throttle cable being to short the engine finally runs and starts off the key! I wonder how many years it's been!bug thanks to Austin and two others for the help. So happy to see it sitting and running, new cable has been ordered today hopefully it will come Before it goes to the bodyshop sometime next week so I can drive it up and down the road. If I knew how to put videos up on here I would! Can't wait to get the paint finished now and crack on with the rest :) happy days

Haven't posted for a while, firstly hope everyone had a good Christmas and new year! Can't say I remember anything on new year!

Not much progress really as I really need the paint sorted first!

Popped the badge on just to make me feel better, need to go bigger though!

Got a few goodies through the post! Always a good feeling right?

Just some engine accelerator cable screws for the carb

And some engine bay rubber and exhaust clamps :)

Started to polish up a few bits! Polished the one tell tail surround up lovely

but the second had different ideas!

All pitted and horrible. So on a search for another one!

Got a pair of beat exchangers which needed minor repair on the one

Few coats of paint and as good as new

Now finally back off to the body shop to get finished... Again!!

Fingers crossed buddy! Hey those exchangers came up a treat didn't they!! Bargain!!
Shiny paint, shiny chrome, that's what I like to see!!

own a Bay?........Feel the love!

Thanks mate hopefully all my bad luck has been used up! Bloody well hope so! Il drop you a text tomorrow about those heat exchangers/j tubes :)

So haven't had a update for a while! Reason being well there's not been a lot to say!

I got the van back... But in the same state as it went back to the bodyshop! Basically it came to the due date of when he said it would be done and it wasn't! It hadn't even moved! So needless to say a few words were spoken and we had a big falling out! The camper and all the doors and roof had been left outside regardless of if I was going to collect it or not! Luckily I managed to get it collected on the same day! So word of warning NOBODY go to Newent body repairs! If im honest id be surprised if there business last till the end of the year!

Lucky I've found someone else who's willing to do it! He's a retired restorer/body repairs veteran and I've heard nothing but good things about him! And as for price he said he's not here to rip me off after my problems! £1000-£1500 max bargain!

So anyway got the van back and popped the westy roof on for the first time since it has been blue!

Makes me want it done even more!!
Hopefully it's not to far away being road worthy!

We just bought a sandblasted at work! Didn't realise how amazing they were!
Cleaned these up pretty damn good

Bought some cab door pop out 1/4 windows in pretty damn good condition

Need a good clean and some seals and they will be as good as new!

Awesome little reward sticker on the one too! Anybody know anymore about what it's all about?

So basically that's all to update really! Hopefully the van will be started on in a week or two! And also the front end lowering situation will be sorted in a few weeks too! Dropped spindles and 4" narrowed beam to be sorted!

Need to talk nicely to Austin to get my seats and dash done next ;)

Glad to see you are sorting it out Myles,

Haven't forgotten about the beam ........honest ;)

That's good news (kind of) Myles. Shit that you too have been messed around by a company, who talked and promised a good job, then totally didn't deliver!
Way too much of that going on nowadays for my liking!
Lets hope this guy sorts this mess out for you, and keeps to his word!

Fingers crossed matey!
