Hi all can any recommend a decent tracker for my camper. It must be very very easy to use, simple to fit and not cost the earth and no monthly fees I don't mind toping up a SIM card. I've just been looking on eBay but it's a mine field. Thanks

I haven't got one because a gps jammer is half the price with no ongoing costs http://www.jammer4uk.com/mini-gps-satellite-blocker-p-44.html

For God sake! You would think they would be illegal! Though I guess they would get them on the black market anyway.

Now I'm depressed :(

Am I being a bit slow here? So what's the point of a gps jammer in relation to having a tracker?. :?

If you jam the tracker then its useless

As I understand it a tracker works off of a gps signal and a jammer makes a bubble/black spot up to 50 m from where ever it's activated. I think they plug them in the cigarette lighter making your vans tracker invisible.

Ahh, got yer. DOH !!

Not Sure this helps as there is a monthly cost

But i have a tracker locate fitted , i have no garage an no driveway , so helped with insurance .
I pay £125 per year but saved £60 per year on insurance so effectively £5 per month .
Its GPS GSM and VHF (Police use vhf signal to locate when there close/passing) and tracks where you've been ,monthly mileage etc, if it moves without the ignition on ( i.e. towed ) they alert/call you. You can look on your phone /internet and see where it is / where you've been at any time .
I like it , it is a little pricey ( i had mine fitted by a company called road radio cheaper than tracker themselves)
If i had a garage i probably wouldn't have bothered but i quite like it now , and on the scale of things i don't find it that expensive for piece of mind .
Will it help if it ever gets stolen ??? I hope so , but guess i won't know unless it happens . I think at the end of the day if there going to steal it they will
but it might just help get it back .

ls plug the gps jammer into a standard 12V cigarette lighter to support power, then it will protect you automatically by blocking any GPS tracking.

If you are sales personnel and delivery drivers, this GPS tracking jammer is a very popular item for you to take lunch or make a personal stop outside of your territory or route "off the radar".

translated....

If you are a thieving bastid and want to easily steal someone pride and joy AND get away unnoticed then this is the device for you

Just a thought, why not use a lockable battery isolator switch (one for the main battery and one for the leisure battery) when you are away from your bus lock the switches, so when the thieving bas---ds are in your bus they have no power to run there jammer, the Tracker will run from its own battery
there will probably be a way round it, just thinking outside the box
lets have some comments

Hate being the one with all the negatives, but a professional thief will probably have one of the mobile ones that doesn't rely on 12v from the car. The cigarette lighter job is marketed to workers that are being tracked by their employers, the more expensive ones I think are mobile and can cause real problems (massive black spots) and would imagine thats what they would go for. Thieving C**t's will always find a way if they really want too. Hidden kill switches is probably the best prevention and park tight so a flat bed can't pick it up

Maybe electrify the steering wheel ;)

Something like this maybe but there may be some innocent casulties
