Nice stance, what does it ride like?

A question for all is what is the advantage of the king pin beam? Is there any advantage at a ride height like this van above or is it only when you are going super slammed with tubs. I do understand the theory of ball joints binding when lowered too low and how king pins beam have more travel but at what height does this come into play. I want to lower my 72 but want to keep stock brakes etc if possible. Any info would be great.

Thanks,
Rich

Stock width king and linkpin beam with Transporterhaus dropped spindles and adjusters, Red9 4" dropped springplates on rear. Tyres are 175/55/15 front and 185/65/15 rear on T3 wheels.
Waiting for beam to settle in before dropping front on adjusters to get required stance.

Loads of clearance underneath, but the wheel/tub interface will determine final height.

Very nice dude. :tongue0022:

Are you running a disc conversion? :?:

Today I Just fitted some 5.5 x 15 JBW AC-5 5 x 205 WHITE Rims with 195/65R15 Yokohama tyres. Only had the Bay for 2 weeks, I think its Stock Hight but have plans to lower it a little.... got to start saving!!!!

Front: TH drop spindles, with 175/55R14
Back: TH horseshoes, with 195/75R14

But I want it lower... Thinking of combining the spindles with a CE weedeater beam (one highest click or so...), but won't the tires hit the arches?? And dropping the back with 1 spline too of course...

Running on Porsche cookie cutters with 195/70/r15 at rear and CE adjusters on front with 185/55/r15 tyres

Now down a spline at the back as well as the adjustable spring plates. This has levelled it out nicely, I think I'm done for now...

Unless I can persuade the other half that we really really need some BBT Sprintstars...

.

Here's my baby ,

Standard width beam with adjusters added.
Lowered on Transporterhaus dropped spindles and adjustable coilovers at the front,

Adjustable spring plates on the back.
( Spring plate setting in photo is approx half way - I have since lowered the back by approx 1" to level it )

Tyres: AVON ZV3
Front: 185/60/14
Rear: 185/65/14

Nice comfortable ride, just have to go at a sensible speed over speed bumps ;)

Could go lower on the beam adjusters at the front.
If I wanted to go lower at the back I'd have to go down on the splines.

This set up is about as low as I can go as the speed ramps near my work are nicknamed ' The Mountains '
