We can't believe we've actually got to this point we really did start to loose hope, and some of the reason why we did hold out is due to the encouragement and comments from good fellow dubbers like your self.

Thanks for the leave springs although i didn't use them i owe you a beer or two :p

Yes we are both totally and utterly stoked to death about our new beauty :D :D :D

Glad it finally all came together for you? You know where i am if theres anything you need to help get you on the road :D :D

Hey good to hear from fella thanks for the offer, hows the panel coming along.

We've had the first day today to have a look at the van in detail, we've emptied it out and had a good look at the rear cargo floor, which turns out to be better than we expected. Wire brushed all the rust spots and Kurusted them. When it's dried, we'll be rust-priming it and painting it white. There is a section on the floor that needs a new section welding in - it's booked in for a couple week's time.

Rear bulkhead never been touched (there's Rachel demonstrating the front one ;) )

It went for the welding last Tuesday and it's coming home on Friday!!
It's needed the battery tray and rear panel, a small section of the cargo floor and a couple of tiny sections where the cab floor meets the wheel arches.

Hi fella yeah its looking the nuts i'm over the moon with the work thats been done on it. The guy thats done it for me is actually areally good friend who ive known for many years and he's been doing vee dubs for at least the last 14 years that i know of. He's not the cheapest but not the most expensive, he just does a superb job for a fair price.

I'll P.M you his number. Hope to catch you at a show in our bus very soon Jim

A quick update, jobs done today

Floor under coated in red oxide 1st coat
lights converted to RHD
New wiper blades
New main beam relay fitted so now work like uk spec

A few more odd jobs to do them MOT time, overall a happy bunny :D :D :D

P.S even though my van is not on the road i have had a great day in the sun just tinkering with it. Can't wait to drive it :D

...or could be Ron Jeremy in fancy dress, then you'd be 'blessed with the looks of a short, fat, funny, pornstar' ;)

OK guys, it's crunch time...

I've replaced all the front and rear brakes, managed to get the horn working properly now (the little spade on the bottom of the steering column had snapped off), lights all wired up correctly now after much faffing about (they were all flashing alternately up until yesterday and the back ones were wired up for US spec)... it's also got all matching black seats with all present and correct seatbelts.

It's booked in for MOT tomorrow at 4.00pm!!!

Will keep you posted...

OK so it's touch and go at the moment - after booking the MOT earlier today, I've found an egg in each of the tyres...

So, not sure whether it will be going or not now, as not really worth spending on a set of new tyres for a set of crappy old wheels... we either need to try and find some wheels/tyres tomorrow just to see it through the test, or just wait a little while longer until we have the money to buy a new set of alloys with tyres... :?

Bugger! :x
